The Activities Technician team plays a vital role in delivering therapeutic, recreational, and leisure programs across the campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total care for horses and small animals, including feeding, watering, grooming, and training
- Oversee horseback riding and grooming lessons, ensuring proper documentation in eChart
- Maintain farm buildings, arena, and grounds, including grooming the arena using a tractor
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of equipment and physical areas
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and equipment to verify safety and functionality
- Detect, minimize, and eliminate safety hazards
- Develop and follow safety and service plans to reduce risk
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and participate in meetings
- Clean and disinfect areas and equipment as required
- Maintain confidentiality and follow protocols for working with vulnerable adults
- Act as a resource to team members and provide input regarding client needs
Requirements
- Experience caring for horses
- Experience providing riding lessons
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to pass a criminal history background check
- Eligibility for direct patient access in accordance with Utah regulations
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varied environmental conditions
